Description of Services: Health811 is a free, secure and confidential service for people living in Ontario * call 811 or chat online to connect with a registered nurse and find local health services and reliable information on one easy-to-use website * telephone support is available day and night in English and French, with language interpretation services offered in 232 languages, including Indigenous languages such as Cree, Ojibwe and Inuktitut

Through Health811 patients can:
  • speak to or chat online with a registered nurse
  • get help with finding a primary care provider if they don’t have one
  • get an initial assessment and health advice
  • use a symptom assessment tool to understand their health concerns and how to access care
  • get connected to mental health and addictions services
  • find local health services, such as home and community care or caregiver support
  • get connected to a specialized health professional if they have concerns about food and healthy eating, breastfeeding or how to quit smoking
  • get general guidance through their health care journey

Dietitian Counselling Service Call or chat online to request a touch point with a dietitian for advice and information on nutrition and healthy eating
 
Health Care Connect Ontarians can receive assistance finding a family physician or nurse practitioner accepting new patients through the phone service (not available over chat)
 
Refugee HealthLine Refugees can connect with health care providers who deliver transitional health care and services, including primary care, specialist care and mental health supports * transitional care includes initial assessments, care and referrals to other health services * service is not for emergencies
